Project xii - Problem Solving, Creativity and innovation, Basic operations.

Very spacey track. Loving the slow melodies of it. No bassline till near the end, unlike my previous tracks.

1.)Audiotool like always.

2.)All of my project requirements were met.

3.)All music making takes creativity and innovation, so I was using these constantly.

4.)I used problem solving to find the right calm bass and to dampen sounds.

5.)Well basic things like logging in, opening firefox, opening new tabs, clicking, right clicking, clicking and dragging, logging in to audiotool, all were basic operations necessary.

6.)I learned how to take all the things I've learned to make good track :).

7.) Proud of the dampening and dripping in the main song line.

8.)Anything can be better, but I can't think of anything I would change on this.

Project xi - Problem Solving, Creativity and innovation, Digital Citizenship

This track is really bumpin. No really it's "Bumpin.'"Sweet bassline that is dance style. Effect-heavy synth to compliment it.

1.)Audiotool like always. Very familiar with it at this point.

2.)All of my project requirements were met.

3.)All music making takes creativity and innovation , so I was using these constantly.

4.)I used problem solving to find the right pitch to make the synths sound high-grain.

5.)There are many loops other users post on Audiotool that are pirated from other people's songs or movies. I didn't use any of these loops and mainly made this track from scratch.

6.)I learned how to animate effects and modulators to improve the pitch of the sound.

7.) I'm most proud of the heavy heavy dance beat in this.

8.)Needs a little bit better synth to compliment the bassline.

Poject ten- Creativity, Problem Solving, Basic operations

The bassline goes very well with the synth. Good mix of reaxing and interesting. Effects higlighted the synth spread nicely.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. More creativity was used to make an broken synth noise. I used problem solving to find out how to make my synths sound right with the bassline. I needed basic operations to do things like right click and drag and open.

3) I learned the value of one bassline or one track throughout a whole song. I'm going to start using this method rather than randomizing the sounds so much, because transitions are so hard.

4) Proud of the synth hits and modulated bass line.

5) A little too standard and boring for my taste. Not very "bumpin."

Poject Nine- Creativity, Problem Solving, Basic operations

This track made me mad. I had sme good egyptian synth going on but then I accidentally deleted a filter and destroyed the sound. Still was able to get a decent one later, but the original was wayy better.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. More creativity was used to make an egyptian sound out of the notes. I used problem solving to find out how to make my synths sound right again. I needed basic operations to do things like right click and drag and open.

3) I learned how to make edit the pitch of a bassline.

4) I am proud of the egyptian notes.

5) The bass was far to dirty. Not a crisp sound.

Poject Eight- Creativity, Problem Solving, Basic operations

Another calm peaceful track to contrast the brutality of the last track. The synth in this is awesome. I have to pace myself, and I spent to much time on the last track, so I added effects and synth to this to come out decent, despite the lack of time spent on it.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. More creativity was used to get the synth sound to be crisp. Rising the synth and wobbles made it flow. I used problem solving to find out how to make only certain part wobble while leaving the rest the same. I needed basic operations to do things like right click and drag and open.

3) I learned gow to make multiple synth sounds overlap and be coherent.

4) Very proud of the flowing melodic sound of the piece.

5) Sometimes the sounds didn't react right and disturbed the flow of the song.

Poject Seven- Creativity, Problem Solving, Digital citizenship

This is one of my better dubstep tracks. It better follows the dubstep style, the build up with drum and synth, the void, then the drop. I used the mp3 sound of I-max in it with was fairly cool. Very big contrast to the last calm relaxing track. Fairly happy with how this turned out, although it didn't upload completely right. The part where there is silence is messed up. Oh well, if i try to re-upload could erase the track like my other ones that disappeared never to be seen again.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. More creativity was used add in appropriate I-max effects and awesome. I felt the bass intro was very creative. I used problem solving transition between each new sound theme. Digital citizenship was showed when I didn't pirate from others.

3) I learned how to make an effective drop. I've been trying to do this for a long time now so it is pretty cool.

4) Proud of the drop and the filter to make such a heavy dynamic bass. I think i may call the album "mad bass."

5)Very hard to transition from the initial bass run to other sounds, I kind of did it but could be so much better. Took me sooo long.

Poject Six- Creativity, Problem Solving, Basic operations

This is probably my best track so far. My knowledge of filters helped me make the track relaxing and have an echoing sound. My knowledge of bass lines helped me to create appropriate drums to go with the synth and piano. I used a filter to give it a resonant sound, a sharp normal piano sound, and non-resonant sound, and a slower end of the song sound.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. More creativity was used to get the piano notes to come together. I used problem solving to Create a way to end the song properly. I needed basic operations to do things like right click and drag and open.

3) I learned how to make peaceful sounds rather than than the hardcore bass and synth. I also learned how to have the screen follow the play bar.

4) I am super proud of the flowing sound and varying synth hits.

5)The intro had some problems. I would've like more tone matrix patterns involved.

Poject Five- Creativity, Problem Solving, Basic operations

This track is an odd assorment of sounds that mostly go together. Hence "Odd Duck."I thought the filtered synth sounds were fairly neat. The bass line went with the synth fairly well.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. It took creativity to make all the wackey sounds actually fit together. I actually took a couple sounds from other tracks to add to this. I had to use problem solving to find a tempo to match one bassline with a heavier bassline.

3) I learned how to use varing filter to make the same basic sound be slightly different as a way to transition.

4)I am most proud of incorperating other sounds besides drum, kicks, and snares into the bassline.

5)Hard to get the different sound themes to go together to form a coherant track. Often this was lacking.

Poject Four- Creativity, Problem Solving, Citezenship

This track has an awesome bassline, and he genre fits a dubstep style. Dubstep is incredibly popular right now, and other kids I've let listen to it think it is good dubstep. Dubstep is basically dynamic bass. This track turned out really well. I suggest listening with headphones for a lot of these tracks becuase computer speakers cannot pick up a lot of the lower sounds.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. I also used creativity to find new ways to modulate the effects to get the tweaked bass. The pun in the title is creative. Once again problem solving was needed to use the program properly. I proved my citizenship by not pirating music.

3) I really learned how to make a great sound filter. I know which effects produce which kinds of sounds and I learned tricks to make stuff sound good, rather than randomly turning the editing knobs. The bass (not bass line) I put in an awesome filter that makes it sound so much more hardcore.

4)I finally got the big bass drop that I just could not get in "mind splinter." My voice is in the song! When it goes yeeeaaaahhhhhhh thats me.

5) I couldn't find a way to add a chorus and a longer middle section without making the track not flow right. Because I spent so much time into effects it would have made sense to make a longer track because the hard part is already done, but oh well.

Poject three- Creativity, Problem Solving, Basic Operations

Here I used down sampling and gated synth to build up tension then have it drop.

1)I used Audiotool and with it I met all the requirements for the track.

2)I used creativity to make the music and melodies. Problem solving was needed to use the program properly. I solved the saving error that kept occurring. All I had to do was leave my account online open to it can upload. It also took problem solving to make the track flow smoothly.

3) During this project I learned how to change the tempo and how to find out how long the track is. With the tempo higher tracks can be tweaked with timestretching because the timescale is not the standard 120. Very helpful.

4)I'm most proud of when i build up tension with agitating sounds and vocals the it kinda "drops" when it hits the soothing synth.

5) The sounds don't go together and sometimes conflict. I was shooting for a big bass drop but i couldn't get it right. the little bass hits are actually a little annoying.

Project Two - Problem Solving, Creativity and innovation, Digital Citizenship

I used synth sounds to make an eerie track called Endless Nightmare.

1.)I continued using and learning Audiotool, which I am now a little more familiar with, to make this track.

2.)All of my project requirements were met.

3.)All music making takes creativity and innovation , so I was using these constantly.

4.)I used problem solving to find the right pitch to make the synths sound eerie.

5.)There are many loops other users post on Audiotool that are pirated from other people's songs or movies. I didn't use any of these loops and mainly made this track from scratch.

6.)I learned how to use effects and modulators to improve the timescale and grain of the sound. This is one of the things I struggled with last track.

7.) I'm most proud of the creepy sounds and the tweaked vocals in this track.

8.)The track needs to flow a lot better. Audiotool can be frustrating because once you publish a track it is difficult to edit it. I did a ton of editing and fine tuning that made it sound much better, only to have the program not save the changes correctly. In the future I'll have to make sure to only publish when I know it is finished.

Project One-creativity and innovation, basic operations and concepts, critical thinking

I created a Techno track for my project.

I used Audiotool to do this.

I think I met all the requirements for the project.

It took Creativity and Innovation to think of melodies for the music.

I used basic operations and concepts to watch tutorials and do other necessary tasks.

I used critical thinking to overcome obstacles when using the program. Its not an easy program to figure out.

I learned how to use audiotool a whole lot better and how to transition into new tracks easier.

I'm most proud of of how some of the tracks come together to make a sweet beat.

The project needs to be a lot shorter. I didn't realize it was seven minutes long. I also need to use more effects and tuning to improve the sound grain of the music.

Learning

Do I think I can teach myself anything?
No. I think there are some thing i would just be incapable of learning. Like Spanish. Cannot do it for some reason. But I'm sure if i put my mind to it i could learn just about anything. There is some hard stuff created by some smart people out there though. I don't think i could learn everything they did. So my answer is definitely no.

The hole in the wall
This experiment was done to test weather or not kids would learn if he put a computer in a wall with educational programs on it. The experiment showed that the people were interested in the computer and used it a lot. Because of this many learned some stuff.

Text to speech
The next experiment Sugata tried was putting a text to speech program on the computers of some kids who spoke English badly. After a two month period, the kids spoke great English that sounded like the voice of the computer.

Biotechnology for 11-12 year old kids
The next experiment done was putting biotechnology programs on computers with 11-12 year olds. After two months, the kids had a decent grasp of the concepts.

Google
He had the kids take a test using Google. He then after two months had the kids take the same test and they scored the same.

The granny cloud
Using Skype, the kids got instructed by nannys from Europe.Italy

Italy
Sugata tested how well the kids could find things on Google. It was fast.
